Evolution of mind during a pandemic

We witnessed digitilization and how ? So closely that a view of human existence scares us. In the year 2020, there was a dawn of the most dangerous virus named COVID-19, which proved to be a disaster on the planet. Let’s skim over the pages in our lives where the timelines can be referred to as pre-covid and post-covid era. Some people found it as a challenging event but most of the people struggled a lot with their mental well being. And me being the one among them, can view this topic as an ever-growing discussion.

Pandemic or a catalyst to our vices!

Our minds seem to be pretty convoluted when we have to act! There comes digitalisation factor because the way we consume information, has become competitive. Have you asked yourself with whom you’re competing with ? If you know then you’re already aware about the cause of your distressed mind. In a hindsight, we have gained an experience of recognising the fact that we are not competing with anyone else but ourselves. Consumption of information has become such a powerful behaviour that we forget in our everyday lives we are striving to know more and more. Waking up, holding that phone, scrolling/staring/reading/liking/following have become part of our daily ritual. And look what acts as an accelerator to this habit of ours, a very disastrous pandemic! You may ask now why a catalyst. Well, if you see the clock ticking then everything make sense to our brains. I fell into the lap of this pandemic prone zone where everything looked like a fail mission. Waking up was a task to me, focussing was a failure. People all over the world treated themselves as the victim of this virus even without being affected by one because they were failing to cope up with their mental health. And now, let’s narrow the gap between the digitalisation era and a pandemic. We know the information is at a hand’s distance from us. But have we ever wondered how our already present vices, strengthened more due to a lockdown. We all dealt with it, isn’t it? What we never realised is the rippling effect. Thoughts from a mind to the body and in such a negative power that the body couldn’t resist the intensity of that negative thought. I will never advice anyone with heavy statements here when none of those advices worked on me or I could follow. But the only thing I can ask everyone is to think and act! I assume the next generation will read the pros and cons of digitalisation through their textbooks, so this discussion is never going to stop. But what we can lend to the next couple of people, is the power to think. I have seen people being kind around me. It might look like a textbook phrase but this is how it is. A very small gesture of kindness can magnify the affect of positivity for many.

Calm within a storm

when the waves are strong
the tides swinging apart
my courage holds the strength
against all the odds

reflecting the light
the waves shine to take a flight
never letting the tangled mind
deter the courage’s sight

the injury, stripping skin
a sloshed mind
nothing can perish
a gentle firm mind.
