Lunch was quite heavy for me today, so my husband decided to cook some soup for dinner. For me chicken was never an obvious preference but lately it has been one. When I was scrolling down my YT feed, those food recipes just popped open and I couldn’t resist but search for boneless chicken recipe, this time it was more precise. There I got it!, I thought to myself when I saw this delicious picture on screen, getting way too excited I jumped from the bed and ran towards the kitchen to gather all the ingredients, preparing myself for the big chicken dish, dodging the soup idea all together. It’s fun when activities, specially cooking, excites you. It actually helps!
So this indian dish is actually delicious and I found it simple and easy to make unlike other indian dishes. Few extras were the red dried chillies and cashews, other than that it all includes regular spices(turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder).
Whenever we plan to cook some non-veg dish, the most important step while preparing an Indian cuisine is to marinate it. The smell is all that matters and indian dishes are specially known for their rich flavours. Mostly after the marination, in this case I directly marinated the chicken while cooking, all the spice would be added so that the chicken would absorb it’s flavour.
Once the marination was done, I added tomato puree with regular spices, mixed for a minute. Added 2 cups of water and left it covered on medium to simmer, for about 15 mins. Once you check your chicken is cooked, you can add some garam masala and kasturi methi for the taste.
It was different to our taste buds, at least different from what we used to cook earlier. I like how the cashews and tomatoes added to the flavour. And that’s it, done and dusted for our tummy 😀 !
